Down on the farm

Last night I made my (somewhat misguided and only-I-could-get-that-lost) way to my sister’s farm. I had never driven myself before, and it was dark, so I found myself on a little detour – thanks to my wonderful brother in law, who came to my rescue (and also to Mr RG for fielding the WTF phone calls).
The calm before the storm….. a happy snap taken on the journey. Perhaps I should have paid more attention to where I was going, instead of taking photos….

Today AJ and I had a pretty action packed day, and I loved having the opportunity to spend some time with her, which is something I’ve never done on my own before.
We started with reading a few books, then made some play dough. Here’s how you make a good play dough.
In a bowl add:
2 cups flour
1 cup salt
1 Tablespoon cream of tartar
and stir to combine.

In a jug combine:
2 Tablespoons of oil
2 cups boiling water
your chosen colouring
Slowly add the hot water, oil and colouring to the flour mix, then stir to combine. If needed add a little extra flour or water to make more or less gooey.

Then, depending on your interest, spend a good few minutes more interested in the empty cream of tartar tin than the play dough…..

Then copy Aunty’s nifty play dough demo….

And have fun!

After play dough we tried some painting, which really ended up being some fantastic messy water/water colour play. She loved it! It should come out in the wash…. sorry Mum!

Followed by little walk and play around the farm …. baaaaaa!

After all that it was time for a ‘nana snack and a lie down! AJ slept for an hour and a half, before being ready for some lunch and a chilled out afternoon with Aunty and Daddy, who had arrived home.
Thanks for the fun day AJ! I hope we can do it again sometime soon xxx
