Counting…

8-color
34 weeks and 5 days pregnant.
37 days until bubs arrives.
20 sleeps until Christmas.
5 working days before school and work  finishes.
!!!
It’s all happening so fast, and yet so slow. I’m really starting to feel the pregnancy now, as I am heavier, slower and more uncomfortable.
On Thursday I did four hours of shopping and housework on the back of a normal school day – and I was completely knucking fackered afterwards!  I’m talking about some gentle walking around the shops, picking up some school supplies and groceries, before heading home, doing dishes and cooking dinner. Really, nothing full on. But OH BOY did I pay for it all night and the next day. Now it seems that almost everything gives me pain and discomfort.
Sleeping? Pain.
Walking? Pain.
Work? Pain.
Shopping? Pain.
Sitting on the couch? Pain.
Eating? P….. oh, no wait, I can still do that. I can still do that very well.
I have a full on weekend ahead with a big list of jobs for school and Christmas. I’m going to try and rest in between jobs so that I don’t over do it, but I think doing anything will feel like overdoing it.
The scary part? I have a feeling that I don’t have a CLUE about real pain and tiredness. I have a feeling I’ll be looking back at this time and laughing and my naiveté as I go zombie like about my post-birth, new-mummy life.
The weird part? Still loving it. I’m loving the huge rolling, elbowing, kicking, stretching baby inside me, and preparing for and thinking about what is ahead. It’s incredibly exciting and a little bit crap-yourself scary, but in the best possible way.

  1. There's nothing at all like the pregnancy "tiredness". Really! Sleep deprivation is completely different to how you feel now so don't feel like you don't understand tired. Try and listen to your little Pebble and rest when you can. Thinking of you!
