Today Pebble and I had our first visit with her new home away from home: child care. Yes, we FINALLY got off that never ending waiting list and Pebble starts care in August.
I have to say that I love this centre so much. I can't say that there won't be some apron strings being cut, or that those first few drop offs won't be hard, but I really couldn't feel more comfortable leaving Pebble in the care of others (not including family, of course).
Today she played in the sand pit, squished some clay and did a lot of people watching. In a week or so we'll try leaving her there without me for half an hour. I think she'll be fine - but will I?
It's a whole new chapter for our family and I can't wait to find out how it turns out.
Meanwhile, here's Pebble having her first play with play dough. It is her new favourite thing to do - and mine too. There's something about play dough that never gets old, and you can never be too old to do it :)
Good luck with daycare! Flynns being going to family daycare ( so professional daycare in a private home, co-ordinated by our local town council ) and he loves it! His carer is lovely and he's made little friends there and his social skills are great because of it...
